What: A 6 week wholistic practice of the 8 limbs of Yoga. Each Saturday we will do a full yoga sadhana practice of limbs 3 through 7 of patanjali’s yoga sutra- asana(posture), pranayama(breathwork), pratyahara(sensory control), dharana(focus meditation), & dhyana(zen meditation)- ending each intensive with a short discussion of the relatonship of all 8 limbs, the opening lines of the sutras, what is samadhi, and other important and related topics. Participants will be encouraged to perform some type of practice from yama(limb 1) and niyama(limb 2) during the week themselves… an example of yama being physical acts of charity and an example of niyama being performing a full physical and spiritual cleansing of one’s home. We will concentrate on one chakra each week, moving up the energetic body throughout the course. The order of our intentions during this course will be; awareness, cleansing, connection, and possible even awakening these centers where the material and energetic worlds meet.
