Yoga Basics ~ with Sally
This is a great class for not only beginners, but anyone wanting to focus on fundamentals. Sally takes you through the basics with focus on proper alignment(she studied under the Iyengar lineage, for those who know and care what that is) and maintaining a working, functional body to take you through life. Her easy going and encouraging teaching style as well as her decades of experience makes her much loved by her students.
Open Studio Time ~ with Katie
Join me in cultivating some truly FREE TIME for ourselves. Drop by, drop in, do what you feel, and get what you need. Practice meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, lay on a mat and browse some of our excellent books on health, wellness, and spirituality, write in your journal, or use our props to get in a nice restorative pose and decompress from the weekend. Away from the distractions of home and with the time and space to listen to our inner selves, maybe we can start the week off by connecting with intention.
Restorative Yoga ~ with Sarah
Self-care and love is not selfish. We want to take the time to honor and show up for ourselves, so that we might show up and be there for others in a lighter and more present way. This class is for those looking to cultivate a holistic self-care yoga practice… one in which we intend to slow down, meet ourselves with kindness, and find some peace and stillness in our day. We will incorporate gentle movement, longer restorative shapes & holds, connecting with the breath, and meditation. I hope you’ll join us! It is your time and your practice. My hope is that we can leave class feeling a sense of restored energy & balance in spirit, mind and body.
Tai Chi ~ with Ashley
This is a one hour class taught slowly for beginners with emphasis on gentle movement. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art and our practice is focused on cultivating balance and relaxation. We will be learning one form each class. Please wear comfortable clothing and low profile shoes or barefeet are encouraged. Our class can be practiced standing or sitting in a chair and is great for the 55+ community. Let’s flow and grow together.
Recovery Dharma
Recovery Dharma is a peer-led community that utilizes Buddhist practices and philosophy as the foundation of our process of recovery from addictions and addictive behaviors, whether caused by substance abuse, process addictions, or any obsessive/habitual pattern that creates suffering. We meet each week to practice meditation, self-inquiry, wisdom, compassion, and community building as tools for recovery and healing. For more information visit the website or our local Facebook group.
Mindfulness Meditation Group
The Mindfulness Meditation Group is open to those with an interest in and some experience with meditation. We open with a 25 minute round of sitting meditation followed by a 5-10 minute round of walking meditation. After this, the leader will do a reading/talk followed by a discussion among the group about what was presented. A donation is requested to help support the cost of the space.
