Sally Dunn is a yoga and meditation teacher who practices mindful awareness and active meditation to a achieve a feeling of spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. The trademark of her classes is that her students find these practices accessible and playful, and they leave with a sense of happiness and well-being.
Dunn has been on the spiritual seekers’ path this lifetime, which has played out mostly in the Piscean Age; an age described as having the motto “What’s In It For ME”! Dunn decided to become an Aquarian teacher in 2010. This signified Dunn’s shift into the understanding that WE are one energy field and the profound importance of being mindful that our every thought, word and deed influences what happens to the totality of our planet. Years before her certification, she began her kundalini practice watching a DVD of Maya Fiennes. She currently continues her kundalini studies as taught by the late Yogi Bhajan.
Also, in 2010, she began an exploration in Buddhist Dharma. She studies under Khentrul Lodrö Thayé Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist Lama who teaches out of Katog Rithrod Mountain Retreat Center in the Ozark Mountains in the United States. He travels the world sharing his teachings and about his book, Power of the Mind.
Under the guidance of dharma teachers and authors, Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, Dunn earned a distinguished certification as a spiritual coach from the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. She began her meditation practice in 2004 by practicing Japan. She then advanced into the Buddhist practice of Vipassana under the late S.N. Goenka in Kaufman, Texas where she attended six, 10 day silent retreats.
Her interest in Sufism came about after reading the the poetry of Hafiz and Rumi. This led her to meeting every other Sunday for the past several years with Mehrdad Noorani, who studied Gnosticism for 30 years under spiritual master Dr. Seyed M. Azmayesh. Mehrdad’s teachings bridge science and spirituality. He teaches Heart Meditation and the Alchemy of Inner Silence, as well as instructions in playing the Daf Drum, a hand-frame drum created for restoring inner peace.
Dunn was certified as a planetary gong therapist and prenatal Hatha yoga instructor by author and kundalini master Yogi Mehtab Benton. For 20 years, Dunn worked as a documentary-style portrait photographer, working primarily in black-and-white film. Dunn studied under Fernando La Rosa, head of the photography department at Newcomb Institute at Tulane University. Dunn trained under Maria von Matthiessen, a New York photographer whose books include: Looking for Magical Country: A Gathering of Savory Southern Characters, featuring photographs of Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. Dunn served as her personal assistant in New Orleans in 1992, photographing the likes of famous stripper and nightclub owner Chris Owens and writer of the vampire stories, Anne Rice.
She earned a BBA from Baylor University, graduating in 1976 with a mere handful of women who were in business school that year.
Dunn lives a flourishing life along the Bogue Falaya River in Covington LA with Gandalf, whom she labels a Cajun Mastiff mix who may have some Catahoula, the Louisiana state dog, in his blood, and Rainbow Kitty. In the book Lord Of The Rings Gandalf remarked, “The only decision you have to make is what are you going to do with the time you’re given.” Sal invites you to an awareness practice of consciousness insight. Her only goal is that “together we create the energy of a knowing of Being Well.” This retreat focuses on an awareness of the synchronicities which are meaningful events that originate from nothing or better stated by F. David Peat “…meaningful events that emerge out of the heart of nature.”

- Sound Bath Meditation
Join us every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month at 7pm, for a relaxing, healing sound bath with either Allison or Megan… generously by donation!
A sound bath is a meditative experience that uses intentional and soothing ambient sounds composed by the practitioner. Participants are bathed in deep sound vibrations while tuning in to a full-body listening experience. These frequencies can slow down brain waves to a deeply restorative state, activating the body’s parasympathetic nervous system. This is where the body begins its self-healing. Sound and vibration healing is an effective and proven modality that uses vibration and sound to help reduce stress, alter consciousness, and create a deep sense of peace, well-being and better health.
“Sound as medicine is nothing new. Sound as medicine has been used for hundreds of years on all continents. For example, Tibetan throat singers use vibration to heal, shamans in Latin America use flute and singing and many other instruments, and percussion instruments used in Africa are some of the examples of how sound is used as medicine.” - New Moon Women’s Circle & Cacao Ceremony
“Each time women gather in circles with one another, the world heals a little more.”

New Moons bring receptivity and new potential. Women throughout history have gathered during this time to set new intentions, offer support, and empower one another in a journey of deep introspection. This circle is an opportunity to create connection and community in a safe and sacred environment, tune into your own feminine strength and intuition, have conscious conversations, learn and grow with other women, engage in intention setting, ritual, and heartfelt sharing, and to create an energetic web of support, nourishment, and healing for yourself and women everywhere.
